Overview

SproutRoute is a family trip planning tool. We take your privacy seriously and collect only what is necessary to generate your trip plans.

Information We Collect

When you use SproutRoute, you provide:

• Destination (city or region name)
• Travel dates
• Number and ages of children traveling
• Activity preferences

This information is used solely to generate your trip plan and is not stored persistently on our servers. Trip data is processed in-session and discarded after your plan is generated.

Third-Party Services

SproutRoute uses the following third-party services to provide accurate trip information:

• Anthropic (Claude AI) — to generate itineraries and packing lists
• Weather.gov / OpenWeatherMap — for weather forecasts
• OpenStreetMap Nominatim — for geocoding destinations
• US State Department API — for travel advisories
• Amadeus Safe Place (GeoSure) — for neighborhood safety scores

Each service receives only the minimum data needed (e.g., coordinates for weather). We do not share personal or identifying information with these services.

Cookies & Analytics

SproutRoute does not currently use cookies or analytics tracking. Your trip plan data is stored in your browser's local storage so you can revisit it, but it never leaves your device unless you choose to share it.

Data Retention

We do not store your trip data on our servers. All trip plans are generated on-demand and returned directly to your browser. Local storage data remains on your device until you clear it.

Children's Privacy

SproutRoute is designed for use by parents and guardians to plan family trips. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The "children's ages" field is used only for activity and safety recommendations.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as SproutRoute evolves. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
